The park was created in 1959 and subsequently declared by UNESCO a Biosphere Reserve in 1978. Its incredible natural environment surprises everybody, with the huge mountains that stand out over the valleys, rivers and coloured mystic lakes. Glaciers and native forests are another attraction that can be enjoyed through the roads of this beautiful park.
The native flora and fauna of the area leave unforgettable memories. More than 100 different species of fauna find a natural habitat in the preserved forests. Within this rich biodiversity, there can be seen mountain lions, foxes, guanacos, flamencos, black-necked swan, kingfisher, among others. The park is characterized for having a cold-temperate rainy climate, without dry season.
The National Park has a comfortable accommodation infrastructure, and complementary services such as restaurants and guided tours. The adventure tours include activities such as hiking, horse riding, long walks on the ice, fishing, water sports, among others.
The "Torres del Paine" and "Cuernos del Paine" are one of the main attractions of this exotic National Park. With a maximum height of 2.850 meters, Torres del Paine are huge granite formations that have been eroded by ice, water and wind forces. These gigantic mountains of the massif catch the attention of thousands of tourists from all over the world, who get out of their traditional routine with this magical experience.
