Its precious geographical characteristics, the Mediterranean climate and fertile valleys, gives the central region of Chile, natural conditions to produce excellent quality wines.

The training gained with winemakers and wineyards of France and the United States, has allowed producers to improve the Chilean processes of cultivation, refining and assembly techniques of maturing, getting better quality of wines and international prestige.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is the most prominent strain at the international, although new strains such as Syrah and Carménère are showing a progressive evolution. The European strain “Carménère” was extinct in the nineteenth century by phylloxera, and was considered worldwide extinct. It was a French winemaker called Jean-Michel Boursiquot, who discovered that the grapes are still growing in the region of Chile, arguing that there were unnoticed mixed into Merlot categories.

While Chilean red wines are distinguished by their color and body, white wines are fresh and easy to drink, with an appropriate balance of sugar/acidity. The good price/quality relation of Chilean wines, have opened the access to large consumer markets like the U.S. and Europe, becoming one of the top 10 exporters of wine in the world.
